Court Rules & Etiquette

PLEASE BRING A NEW FEATHER SHUTTLE (YONEX AS10 OR HIGHER) TO PLAY

GAME PLAY

  • Match Format: One doubles game played to 21 points (deuce up to 25).

  • Court Rotation: After finishing a game, please leave the court so the next group can play.

  • Skill-Level Courts: Play on the court that meets your skill level to ensure fair games.

NAME TAG & COURT ETIQUETTE

  • Name Tag Placement: Play on the court where your name tag is placed. If you wish to change courts, move your name tag to the court you want to play on.

  • No Moving Name Tags Without Consent: Do not move another player’s name tag without their permission. If any issues arise, please notify the staff.

  • No Holding Multiple Courts: You may only hold one spot at a time with your name tag.

WARM-UP & SINGLES

  • Warm-Up Time: Limit warm-up to 2 minutes before starting a match.

  • Singles Play: Singles games are not allowed when all courts are occupied.

  • Vacant Court Use: You may warm up or play singles on a vacant court, but must vacate if a doubles group places their name tags to play.

GAME ETIQUETTE

  • Deciding First Serve: Determine who serves first by tossing the shuttle and seeing which side it points to.

  • Shuttle Rotation: Alternate shuttles between games, or use Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide.

  • Winning Team: Winners take new unused shuttles. If there is one left, the losing team can play Rock-Paper-Scissors for it.

  • Respectful Play: Return shuttles underhand to your opponents and be considerate of other games and players on nearby courts.

Please follow these court rules so everyone can enjoy a friendly and respectful time at ACBC. We want everyone to have fun!
